Description

SLT3-APP-RES-HEAT is a simple hardwar embedding 2 power resistors (2Ω 1W 2512) connected to power ground connection with a temperature sensing varistor (a 10kΩ NTC) placed in the middle. It also embeds 3 red LEDs and 1 green LED for general purpose flag display.

SLT3-APP-RES-HEAT is used for initiation trainings of beginners to get started with the use of SLT3G1 tester and get started with stimulation scripts, measurement functions, edge calculation and create pass fail test scripts.

We thus propose several small experiments or projects to be tried out as first step trainings

  • Use DPS power channels, set voltage, limit voltage, limit current, read voltage and current, (DMM UX page + script page)
  • Use Fuel Gauge counters, set voltage, reset coulomb couter, get coulomb counter, script mode
  • Use NTC and k-Type temperature measurement (script mode)
  • Run cyclic measurement, incorporate test during cycling measurement and assign LED status depending on measurements

Training 1: Control DPS power supplies, GPIOs

Operations

  • Connect J1.VHEAT1 and J1.VHEAT2 signals to SLT3G1 front pannel VOUT1 and VOUT2
  • Connect J1.VFG (middle pin) to to SLT3G1 GND
  • Set VHEAT1 to a voltage that provides 0.36W in the resistor RHEAT1  (use the DMM page)
  • Set VHEAT2 to a voltage that provides 0.36W in the resistor RHEAT2  (use the DMM page)
  • Do the same using SLRTOS scripts
  • Redo by setting a voltage clamp and current clamp
  • Learn how to read the clamp voltages for each channel in script mode
  • Turn on each LED with a dedicated GPIOs
  • Play on timings to animate LEDs

Training 2: Cyclic task, live calculation

Operations

  • Create a task to initiate the power setup
  • set power to 1W for both channels
  • read NTC and k-type probe temperature
  • check if temperature is below 35C
  • enable a first LED ligt when temp exceeds 35C
  • Make the task cyclic
  • Create another task to start the cyclic task and map it to F1
  • Create another task to stop the cyclic task and map it to F2
  • Incorporate in the cyclic task measurements and comparisons to check the temperature range and enable an LEDs accordingly
